Thousands of protesters flooded the streets of New York City’s Times Square on New Year’s Day, in a powerful solidarity statement with Gaza. The march was marked by passionate chants including “Resistance is glorious — we will be victorious,” “We will honor all our martyrs,” and “Gaza, you make us proud.” Pro-Palestine groups issued a statement, declaring “no new beginnings without Gaza,” emphasizing their commitment to not moving past the ongoing suffering in Gaza. Thousands of demonstrators gathered to make clear that they refuse to turn the page on the Palestinian cause. “We unequivocally recommit to another year of struggle alongside our people in Palestine,” the statement read. “For this upcoming year and as many years as it takes, we are marching forward to our freedom, liberation, and victory.”
