Thousands of displaced Palestinians return home to Gaza City as ceasefire takes effect
As the ceasefire took effect in Gaza, thousands of displaced Palestinians began returning to their homes, or what remained of them, in Gaza City, many walking barefoot. Around noon, the Israeli army announced that the Gaza ceasefire was officially in effect. Earlier, the occupation's Army had stated that once its forces completed redeployment to the "Yellow Line", a temporary demarcation first revealed on an October 4 map shared by US President Donald Trump, a 72-hour countdown would begin, after which the Palestinian Resistance is required to release the Israeli captives. According to Israeli reports, the exchange process is expected to conclude by Monday at noon.
