Vusimuzi Madonsela, South Africa's Ambassador to the Netherlands
"Israel has sought to hide its crimes through the weaponization of international humanitarian law," said Vusimuzi Madonsela, South Africa's Ambassador to the Netherlands, before the International Court of Justice today. On his part, South Africa's legal representative Vaughan Lowe said, "Israel's" declared aim of wiping Gaza from the map is about to be realized." Lowe added, "Evidence of appalling crimes and atrocities is literally being destroyed and bulldozed, in effect wiping the slate clean for those who've committed these crimes and making a mockery of justice." On May 16th and 17th, the ICJ will conduct public hearings at the Peace Palace in The Hague based on South Africa's request for additional provisional measures and the modification of previously prescribed ones by the Court in light of "Israel's" wide-scale attack on Rafah.
