Why is 'Israel' dragging the US into a regional war?

As the US maintains its unlimited and unconditional support for "Israel's" ongoing genocide in Gaza, the Israelis do not seem to share the same enthusiasm regarding US interests in pushing for a regional war where Americans are supposed to fight and die for the occupation regime, why is that?
