An Israeli Defeat Is A US Defeat, But How Far Will Biden Take This? (Illustrated by Mahdi Rteil to Al Mayadeen English)

Since October 7, the US government has approached the war in Gaza as if it were its own. It backs the Israelis in every action and lies to cover up their crimes against humanity, and even works to fabricate stories to manufacture consent for genocide. However, this is now massively backfiring against Washington’s regional hegemony as a whole.

The Zionist Entity is plausibly accused of Genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and decided to violate a recent ruling from the court order to stop the Rafah invasion. Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his Defence Minister, Yoav Gallant, both await arrest warrants from the ICC. The regime is also now part of the UN’s infamous blacklist, for killing children. Additionally, mountains of human rights reports have accused it of every heinous war crime imaginable, including of operating an Apartheid system. It also violated a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution, calling for a temporary end to the Gaza war.

What is listed above is only a brief summary of the Israeli regime’s predicament in the international community. This summary doesn’t even include the fact that many nations are severing ties and taking various actions against it. However, it does provide a good idea of what the US government is supporting. In every single instance where the Zionist Entity is found to be behaving like a rogue regime, the US is there to support them and provide cover for their crimes.

Not only has Washington revealed itself to be a hypocrite, but it has destroyed any semblance of legitimacy it still had around the world. On the international stage, the Biden administration has destroyed the standing of the US government. Although they may be willing to just give up even pretending to care about their so-called “international rules based order”, they simply cannot afford the military embarrassment that is coming alongside it.

One thing that we have to speak candidly about, is the fact that the war in Gaza is not only an Israeli war, it is an American one too. Everything from the propaganda and diplomatic cover to the weapons and financial support, for the assault on Gaza, comes from the United States. Without Washington’s unflinching support for the actions of the Zionist Entity, this war could not be taking place right now.

We have to then ask ourselves why this is the case? The first and most obvious reason is the power of the Israeli Lobby in the US, however, the second is that this war is an existential one for the American model to impose its power in West Asia. On October 7, when the Hamas-led Al-Aqsa Flood operation devastated the Israeli Southern Command and inflicted the largest blow on the Zionist Entity that we’ve ever witnessed, this was a huge blow to Washington.

The reason why this represented such a major defeat for the US government and its interests is multidimensional. One of the major things that the Palestinian resistance did was to undermine the US military technology and security industries, by laying waste to what was supposed to be a well-guarded and impenetrable barrier. Hamas, with domestically produced weapons, managed to pull off the single most successful attack on the Israeli regime in history. Compared to the equipment that the Israeli side possessed, the Palestinian resistance was fighting with primitive military means, yet managed to pull off their military operation with relative ease.

For the American Military Industrial Complex (MIT) this was a major embarrassment. Although this aspect is not often factored into the situation, every Israeli war features US weapons, US training, US intelligence and works to market US military technology. There is a reason why there is such an effort to convince the world that the Israeli military’s use of its air defense systems, munitions, vehicles, light weapons, surveillance technology and fighter jets is so successful, it is because that is part of a marketing ploy. It also gives off the idea that US and Israeli weapons technology is the best in the world, thus projecting power.

In order to cover this up, you need a convincing distraction, which is part of the reason why the October 7 atrocity propaganda hoaxes have been spread so widely by US politicians and American media. They need to not only justify any and all actions against the Palestinian people, but also to distract the world from the military, political and intelligence failures from the Israeli regime and the US on October 7.

After the war in Gaza began, various other fronts emerged, one of the most notable being in Yemen. The Ansarallah movement shocked the world with their effective blockade on shipping through the Red Sea that was destined for the Zionist Entity. While this certainly affected the Zionist regime the most, it also greatly undermined US power in the region as a governing force in one of West Asia’s poorest countries proved capable of preventing shipping through a key sea route. So, the US government responded by launching its ‘Operation Prosperity Guardian’ in the Red Sea, which has proven to be an embarrassing failure. Yet, Washington cannot simply back away and accept defeat, so it decides to do the only thing it knows how to: carry out further aggressive actions. This has ultimately culminated in undermining the strength of their naval power in ways never seen before.

At this time, the newest point of defeat appears to be in Lebanon, where Hezbollah has dealt another embarrassing blow. This time, the response is one that they understand must be taken more seriously, yet they approach it with the same hardheaded tactics.

In Gaza, Lebanon and Yemen, the US and Israeli regimes have had their weaknesses exposed like never before. This has driven these regimes crazy beyond belief, leading them to project their so-called “power” through enacting a high-tech genocide against a defenseless civilian population. However, the question still remains: how far can this go before the Americans wake up and realize that they must accept their defeat? Will it mean the complete destruction of the Zionist Entity, or can the US force itself to accept the reality of defeat? The answer will come in due time.
