Israel’s Historical Relations with South Africa’s Apartheid Regime
The Tripartite of "Israel" – South Africa – Taiwan were all having similar problematic situations: rejection from the surroundings, dependence on America, and legitimacy based on force and the imposition of a fait accompli
On Feb 1st, 2022, Amnesty International issued a report titled “Israel’s apartheid against Palestinians: a cruel system of domination and a crime against humanity”. Agnès Callamard, Amnesty International’s Secretary-General said “Our report reveals the true extent of Israel’s apartheid regime. Whether they live in Gaza, East Jerusalem, and the rest of the West Bank, or Israel itself, Palestinians are treated as an inferior racial group and systematically deprived of their rights. We found that Israel’s cruel policies of segregation, dispossession, and exclusion across all territories under its control clearly amount to apartheid. The international community has an obligation to act”.
Well, Apartheid is in no way something new to “Israel”. In fact “Israel” has a long history and a love story with the regime that created the Apartheid in the world: the racist South African white regime.
It was back in 1948, at the same moment in history, that the two racist regimes were born :
-The Zionist regime of “Israel” in Palestine
-And the Apartheid regime in South Africa.
Despite the huge geographical distance between them, and their differences in race and religion, the similarities between the two regimes that came into existence at the same time were many. The most obvious of similarity features is the isolation from the regional environment of these new "states". They are unnatural "states" and weren’t born as a result of the normal growth and development of human society, but were “manufactured” and forcibly produced with a great deal of conspiracy and fishy arrangements by Western colonial powers, Britain first and then America.
We will not talk much about the “State of Israel” and how it was established in Palestine, as this needs volumes. But we will only point out that it was born as a foreign entity hated by its environment and by all its neighbors, who saw in it a pressing threat and looked at it as a claw for the Western colonial powers.
As for the Apartheid state in South Africa, it was officially formed in 1948, when the party of the white colonizers in it (which called itself the “National Party”) approved a package of racist laws against the country's majority of black Africans and began applying them. Prior to that, there were racist practices since the days of direct British rule in South Africa, but it wasn’t an official and written policy until the white "Afrikaners" party came to make South Africa a declared and unequivocal Apartheid regime. South Africa, with its strategic location and vast natural resources, quickly turned into an important ally and closely related to the old/new colonial powers in the West (especially the right-wing circles in it such as the British Conservative Party and the American Republican Party), who saw it as a solid ally in their battle against communism in the world and against the emerging African liberation forces seeking to get rid of colonialism and slavery in the rest of the continent. The ruling white minority, in cooperation with big Western companies and conglomerates, plundered the country's gold and uranium wealth and transferred it, by detour, to Europe and America.
The “State of Taiwan” could also be added to the "Israel" – Apartheid mix. In 1949 Taiwan was created as a result of the bitter civil war on the Chinese mainland between the Kuomintang regime led by Chiang Kai-shek, who has been in power since 1927 on the one hand, and the Chinese Communist Party led by Mao Zedong on the other hand. After four and a half years of bloody conflict (1945-1949), the Kuomintang regime was defeated, so Chiang Kai-shek gathered the remnants of his forces and regime, and fled from the country settling on that island facing the Chinese mainland, Taiwan. On that island, a capitalist, semi-fascist regime (Chiang Kai-shek and his family and entourage continued to rule in Taiwan for 47 years without any elections, until 1996 when the first presidential elections were organized) was declared as “China”! It was actually a satellite state linked to the powers of the west, especially America, who saw it as a focal point and a future base that could be invested in to threaten and destabilize the communist regime in Greater China and prevent its growth as a great power and even try to divide China into pieces.
The three regimes, all artificial and unnatural, quickly “discovered” each other! The Tripartite of Israel – South Africa – Taiwan were all having similar problematic situations: rejection from the surroundings, dependence on America, and legitimacy based on force and the imposition of a fait accompli. Despite the far geographical distances, relations between the “artificial trio” began to develop and accelerate, until they reached their peak: cooperation in the nuclear field! In view of the fear of the hostile large surrounding, and the deep concern about future and continuity, the ruling circles in the Tripartite considered that nuclear weapons may be their hope and salvation, as a means by which they could threaten and deter their neighbors.
In 1981, the academic researcher Robert Harkavey used the term "pariah states" in his important research regarding the escalating nuclear cooperation between the "Israel"-Taiwan-South Africa trio, issued by the University of Wisconsin (USA). Even the NewYork Times newspaper, a mouthpiece for America’s Zionists, indicated in an article published on June 28, 1981, that the term “pariah states”, referring to the lack of diplomatic relations and the rejection they met in the world, began to be used in Western circles when talking about the escalating cooperation in the fields of economy, defense, intelligence, and nuclear technology between the "triangle” of "Israel"-Taiwan-South Africa. The newspaper said, according to intelligence sources, that “Israel” was cooperating with Taiwan to produce a missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads, and that the South African regime is the source of uranium for all of them.
In the early nineties of the last century, the Apartheid regime in South Africa fell at the hands of the freedom fighter Nelson Mandela and his African comrades. The Apartheid system vanished and disappeared as if it had never existed! That happened in a civilized manner, with no massacres or bloodshed, and in its place, a true national regime that represents the country and its people had been established. The major powers in the West have abandoned the Apartheid regime and left it facing its miserable fate for many reasons, the most important of which was its crude and blatant racism, which made it, morally, impossible to defend. Also, the humane and progressive forces in the West itself, along with the freedom lovers from around the world, created tremendous pressure on the governments of Europe and America, forcing them in the end to abandon the regime that lost its leverage and became a burden.
The other two legs of the triangle remained. As for Taiwan, the noose around it is tightening day after day, and Greater China will not leave it. It is determined to reunite the island with the motherland. After it succeeded in recovering Hong Kong from Britain a quarter of a century ago, China is left with only Taiwan, to complete the unification of the Chinese nation. Taiwan has no realistic hope for the future as an independent country. Taiwan will inevitably disappear, sooner or later.
And so will “Israel”. There is no future for the Zionist-Apartheid entity. “Israel” no longer has that privilege in the West, as in the past, and its racism and crimes have been exposed before the world, which is no longer ready to accept the occupation and colonial regimes.
