The United States is and has been censoring acts of ethnic cleansing and genocide as mere "displacements" and even painting them as favors to the indigenous people they have and seek to displace. The Trump administration, alongside the far-right Israeli government, through their calls to take over Gaza and expel its inhabitants, are aiming to revive manifest destiny - or reinvent it. They want to do to the Palestinians exactly what they did to the indigenous Americans before them. This is not a chapter of a dark past in a history book; this is the present.
