First Anniversary of Seif Al-Quds Battle
The Palestinian people confronted this Zionist aggression in one united front across historic Palestine as never before, despite the long-standing and futile attempts to divide the Palestinian people into geographic areas.
The Battle of Seif Al-Quds was a turning point in the struggle of the Palestinian national liberation movement. It unified the Palestinian people inside historic Palestine and in shatat (diaspora) all over the world, it buried forever the moribund 30-year-old Oslo agreement, it solidified the axis of resistance, it destroyed the perception of the invincibility of the Israeli military machine and inflicted sizable economic losses on "Israel" compared with its previous aggressions on Gaza.
One of the most significant elements of the battle was that the Palestinian resistance organizations decided to take the initiative, rather than allow "Israel" to dictate the timing of events. They did this in response to the continued Zionist ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their homeland, this time from occupied Jerusalem (Sheikh Jarrah) and the desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and after sending multiple advance warnings that were totally ignored.
The Palestinian people confronted this Zionist aggression in one united front across historic Palestine as never before, despite the long-standing and futile attempts to divide the Palestinian people into geographic areas (West Bank, Gaza, Jerusalem, and 1948 Palestinians). It also unified Palestinians inside historic Palestine and in the Shatat; and it reinvigorated the Palestinian solidarity movement across the globe, in an unprecedented wave not seen since the signing of the Oslo Accords which had severely damaged such solidarity.
This proved that the whole of the Palestinian people will never forfeit their inalienable rights, no matter how long the Zionist project will last. The unity across the world and in historic Palestine also proved the failure and bankruptcy of the Oslo process and its godfathers.
The Seif Al-Quds battle proved the vulnerability of the Zionist enemy, which sought a ceasefire within 10 days against the Gaza front; we can only speculate what would happen if all battlefronts joined in? It also proved that the axis of resistance can take the initiative and inflict heavy losses on the Zionist entity, which cannot afford nor withstand a long-protracted war.
The development and advancement of the Palestinian missiles, drones, and artilleries resulted in the shutting down of Zionist airports, slowing down factories production, and restricting the movement in major cities. All of this resulted in heavy economic losses, according to the Zionist paper Yedioth Ahronoth, which stated the “eight days of fighting cost Israel losses almost equal to the losses of 51 days of the war on Gaza in 2014”.
The global balance of power does not bode well for the Zionist entity; throughout its history, its very survival was always dependent on western imperialist powers. However, the US empire is in decline and its devastating defeat in Afghanistan and its humiliation at Ain Al Asad attack are just two examples. It is very doubtful that it will come to Israel’s rescue, if they feel the stakes are too high. The Zionists will face the same destiny other US puppets faced when their services were no longer needed, and subsequently became a burden on the Empire.
Seif Al-Quds was a turning point in the struggle of the Palestinian struggle and reversed the over thirty years of the Oslo Accords’ defeat and humiliation. It will be a landmark on the road to the liberation of Palestine.
