Killing a mother of 6 in Palestine: Zionism’s cruelty dates back to its founding
Israeli racist and unhuman policies do not apply to the people it occupies but to its settlers as well, as a selection was ongoing in the early days of the occupation for the exclusion of "the weak and the sick".
Ghada Sabateen, a 47-year-old widow, mother of six, and math teacher, died from her wounds after being shot by Israeli forces near a temporary military checkpoint in the village of Husan near Bethlehem on April 11th. She was suspected of being a potential “threat” by the Israeli forces, who later admitted the victim was unarmed. Her six children, who range from 11 to 22 years old, sat in their grandparents' house, speaking through tears to the mourners about their mom who was "full of love and kindness".
This kind of brutal killing is happening repeatedly in occupied Palestine. It’s not an “accident” or “isolated incident”; rather it’s a policy for the Israeli army aiming at terrorizing the Palestinian people. In fact, it’s not something new from the Israeli army, which is the heir of the terrorist Haganah groups, the armed branch of the Zionist movement. The brutality, cruelty, and inhumane nature of the Zionist movement is deeply rooted and dates back to its very founding. The leading Zionists, the likes of Chaim Weizman and David Ben-Gurion, used to coldly set their goals, their plans, and their methods after careful calculations of interests, gains, and losses, often disregarding or marginalizing human considerations. Their cruelty was not directed at the Arabs only, but included even their fellow Jews as well!
Here are some examples from the history books of the last century, all from the period of 1940s to the 1950s during which the vast majority of Arab countries’ Jews migrated to “Israel”.
In his book “JEWS IN ARAB COUNTRIES: The Great Uprooting,” the French writer of Moroccan Jewish origin, Georges Ben Soussan, talks about the first stage of the immigration of Moroccan Jews, which began in 1949 and was coordinated with the French colonial authorities. He says that the government of "Israel" was “dissatisfied” with the "quality" of the Jewish immigrants who began arriving. “Israel” quickly recruited a professional physician, Dr. Fajermann, and sent him over to Morocco with the task of “selecting” who would emigrate from among the Jews and who should remain.
Dr. Fajermann was a staunch Zionist and was convinced that "Israel" should receive healthy Jews who will benefit the state, not those who will be a burden on it". Fajermann began his work by immediately excluding all candidates for immigration who were found to have syphilis, trachoma, and tuberculosis, before moving on to the rest of the criteria. Dr. Fajermann's activities and the work he did arouse the indignation of the French colonial authorities. The French director of medical services in Morocco wrote to his superiors, "The Zionist officials select immigrants who are in excellent health, and leave the sick, old the infirm to us”.
In 2006, the Israeli newspaper Maariv published a revolting story from the days of Moroccan Jews’ emigration in the 1950s. At that time, the Israeli Mossad emissaries were touring the areas of the Jewish population in Morocco, visiting families and persuading them to emigrate by promising a better life and future in “Israel”. The story is about a family of six children and their widowed mother, who was visited by an agent of the Zionist Mossad who agreed with her on the details of immigration. Consequently, the woman sold the simple furniture of her home and everything she could sell in preparation for the final departure. When the Zionist representative came on time to pick them up, the poor woman was surprised by him telling her that two of her kids will be excluded! Actually, the Mossad agent was not aware that among the six children was a girl suffering from a kind of paralysis in her legs, and a boy suffering from mental deficiencies. Thus, at the last moment, he told her that the instructions he had did not allow the sick and disabled to immigrate! Therefore she had to leave behind the two children, and migrate with the rest four!
The Zionist simply told her: Leave the two disabled kids, and come with the rest! The poor widow could not believe what was happening and felt the shock. She soon burst into tears, begging him to allow her to take all her children with her. The Zionist refused and remained unmoved. She then shouted at him with all her voice saying that she would never leave her two children behind. To hell with you, she added! The Zionist agent left the place, leaving and the woman crying bitterly after she became homeless, with no furniture, and nothing but her miserable children.
The last example is from Libya. In the first stage of the Libyan Jews’ immigration process, which was being carried out in coordination with the British colonial authorities, a sudden obstacle emerged that halted the flow of immigrating Jews. It was caused by the Israeli side, who started requesting medical treatment for Jews with trachoma and other sicknesses before they boarded ships for immigration. Also, "Israel" refused to receive 800 elderly people and asked the British authorities that only healthy and young Jews should immigrate. But what happened was that young and healthy Jews refused to emigrate without bringing their sick and elderly relatives with them. So “Israel” had to agree, grudgingly, in the end.
There is no room for feelings and emotions. To hard-line Zionists, humans are tools, numbers, and means that they use to achieve their goals. They were interested only in young and healthy Jews who can be used as soldiers, workers, and farmers, while the sick and the elderly were deemed “unnecessary”.
