Lebanese spontaneously protest outside Beirut Airport denouncing Ortagus' statements
Speaking to reporters at Baabda Presidential Palace after meeting with President Joseph Aoun, US Deputy Special Envoy for the Middle East Morgan Ortagus didn't shy away from bluntly saying that the US "has set clear red lines that [Hezbollah] won't be able to ... be a part of the government." Her statements sparked wide condemnation from the Lebanese people who took to the streets outside Beirut Airport. "There was no need for an invitation. The statements made [by Morgan Ortagus] should provoke anyone with a true sense of dignity, patriotism, and sovereignty," one protester told Al Mayadeen, while another protester affirmed, "This nation is built on resistance."
