Kuwait bans ‘Death on the Nile’ over ex-IOF soldier Gal Gadot role
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Information banned the “Death on the Nile” film from cinemas due to fact that an a former Israeli occupation army soldier plays the lead role.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Information has decided to ban the screening of "Death on the Nile", citing the film's star Gal Gadot's military history in the Israeli occupation forces as the main reason.
Al-Qabas newspaper quoted an informed source as saying that the Ministry of Information has officially decided to ban the film from showing in Kuwait, effectively removing it from movie theatres.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Information has previously banned Wonder Woman from cinemas for the same reason.

The audience in Kuwait and many Arab countries have turned to social media platforms to call for the boycotting of the Hollywood movie, expressing their outrage over the screening of a movie starring Gadot whose history is tarnished with racist anti-Palestinian rhetoric, having previously called for the victory of "Israel" over Palestinians in its war on Gaza in 2014. The Israeli extended aggression killed 547 children.
The Boycott, Divestments and Sanctions movement (BDS) in Kuwait has also been calling for a boycott of the movie. Simultaneously, Lebanon’s BDS is continuing to work toward a boycott of the movie. Meanwhile, it has sparked widespread controversy in Egypt, given that it is set in Cairo and is based on the Agatha Christie novel, with many viewing the casting of Gadot in a titular role as a deliberate provocation for the Arab populace who suffered endlessly from Israeli hegemony.

Gadot’s Zionist history
The Zionist actress came into prominence in 2016 when she played the role of the comic book character Wonder Woman in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, before starring in a spin-off film about the character in 2017.
Wonder Woman was banned subsequently in Lebanon, Qatar, Tunisia, and Jordan following boycott calls from pro-Palestinian activists and the BDS campaign.
Gal Gadot says she possesses a strong connection to her Israeli identity, which becomes more apparent when taking into consideration the two years she served in the IOF as well as her staunch support of Israeli barbarism against the people of Palestine.

Take for example her 2014 stance towards the bombing of Gaza, where she posted the following:
Talk about Zionist supremacy.
In May 2021, Gadot attempted to comment on the then-ongoing Israeli war on Gaza by portraying her “state” as a victim.
— Gal Gadot (@GalGadot) May 12, 2021
The portrayal of the colonial apartheid “state” as a victim drew a wave of heated criticism and condemnation, notably as the official victim-to-victim ratio during the Seif Al-Quds battle was widely incomparable: 212 Palestinian compared to 12 Israelis.
It is worth mentioning that Entertainment giant Disney has chosen Gadot for the role of the evil queen in the Snow White live-action remake. The film is set to start production next year, where she will act opposite Rachel Ziegler who is playing the titular character.
Disney’s tone-deaf decision to cast the former soldier and supporter of Zionism could not have come at a worse time, as the Israeli occupation is mounting an unscrupulous campaign to silence Palestinian voices everywhere not to mention the attacks on Al Naqab, and Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in an effort to uproot its inhabitants as well as the massacres it perpetrated in May against civilians in Gaza.
