Mr. James Bond Receives His Star on the Walk of Fame
James Bond's Daniel Craig expresses his happiness as he receives his star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
Famous actor Daniel Craig, mostly known for playing James Bond, now has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, marking the 2,704th celebrity to be honored with it.
On Tuesday, Craig, who has been playing 007 since 2006, was awarded his star just outside 7007 Hollywood Boulevard, in honor of the British spy's 007 code number in the franchise.
"I never thought I'd hear myself saying this but you know it's an absolute honor to be walked all over in Hollywood," expressed the 53-year-old as his Walk of Fame star was unveiled, two days before the release of his fifth and final 007 movie, No Time To Die, in cinemas.
The movie has earned the highest opening weekend takings of any James Bond movie in the UK, with a total of £25.9 million.
Oscar-winner Rami Malek, who plays Bond's rival in the new movie, praised Craig, who he said had been a delight to work with.
"We all know he's a superb actor, he's dedicated, he can handle all his own stunts," said Malek during the ceremony that witnessed the presence of fans celebrating the event.
From hundreds of applications, stars on the Walk of Fame are awarded each year by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. A total fee of $50,000 is paid by recipients for the creation and installation of their star.
