Cannes 2022 main lineup announced, includes Russian film
The festival will be taking place in France's Cote d'Azur, from May 17 to 28.
Tchaikovsky's Wife, a new movie directed by Russia's Kirill Serebrennikov, has been added to the competition in this year's Cannes Film Festival, as announced by the festival's director-general, Thierry Fremaux at a Paris press conference on Thursday.
"Renowned Russian film director Kirill Serebrennikov will be participating in the festival’s main competition for the third time," he noted.
The festival will be taking place in France's Cote d'Azur, from May 17 to 28.

There are, so far, 18 movies that have made it to this year's main competition, including films by Palme d'Or winners such as Hirokazu Kore-eda, Cristian Mungiu, Ruben Ostlund and the Dardenne brothers. Other names include James Gray, Claire Denis, Park Chan-wook, Kelly Reichardt, Jerzy Skolimowski, and David Cronenberg.
