David Bowie's handwritten paper with the lyrics of his 1972 hit, Starman, is going up for auction, priced at £30,000 ($34,656).
Dan Hampson, the auction manager for Omega Auctions, remarked that “David Bowie remains one of the most influential recording artists of all time and someone whose lasting influence on music is still being studied."
The company said that someone who acquired the lyrics sheet in the 1980s is selling it at the auction, previously being showcased at the V&A's David Bowie Is exhibition.
“The items that most excite our collectors are those that bring them closer to the stars, in this instance, the handwritten lyrics to a song which many would regard as a work of true genius. It’s a real privilege to see and to sell them.”

The song was released in 1972, as part of Bowie's fifth album, the Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
The sheet will go on sale on September 27, priced at an estimated range between £30,000 ($34,656) to £40,000 ($46,247).
On a previous occasion, Omega sold a Bowie recording for £39,000 ($45,110). The recording was discovered in a bread bin by one of Bowie's old bandmates.
Bowie, whose music played on passionately for about 50 years, died of cancer in 2016.
In a 2002 interview, he reflected on the nature of his music: “My entire career, I’ve only really worked with the same subject matter. The trousers may change, but the actual words and subjects I’ve always chosen to write with are things to do with isolation, abandonment, fear and anxiety, all of the high points of one’s life."
