Harry Potter potential reboot TV show features complete new cast
HBO Max has made the announcement that the motion picture sensation will be turned into a TV show.
The Harry Potter franchise, which evolved from a book series to a film series, will now become a television series. On Wednesday, HBO Max, which will soon be called Max, confirmed that a new remake of the Hogwarts world story will be executive produced by J.K. Rowling and will have a totally different cast from the films.
In a statement, Rowling said, “Max’s commitment to preserving the integrity of my books is important to me, and I'm looking forward to being part of this new adaptation which will allow for a degree of depth and detail only afforded by a long-form television series."
In terms of the series, each season will be true to the original novels, and the show's release will take place over a ten-year period.
“This new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years,” Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO & Max Content said about the project, which he also assured fans would be “a faithful adaptation.”
The series is expected to be broadcast in 2025/2026.
