Sistema, a new gallery featuring contemporary artists opens in Moscow
Sistema, a gallery that specializes in working with talented and promising contemporary artists from Russia is running in the center of Moscow until August 27, 2022.
A new modern art gallery, Sistema, opened its doors on Friday in Moscow with an exhibition under the title "Reflecting the visible."
The Sistema Galley takes place in a three-story building in the center of Moscow. The project has the purpose of promoting the Russian art market, revealing new faces, and making contemporary art popular, as per the gallery's statement.
Its first expo features the works of four Russian contemporary artists of different generations: Elena Kulik and Igor Kulik (new wave pop artists from Saint-Petersburg), Svetlana Chimitdorzhina (a young graduate of the Russian Academy of Arts), and Dmitry Shorin (an artist from Novosibirsk, who took part in the 55th Venice Biennale). All artists use oil paints and experiment with visuals and meanings while using classical oil painting techniques.
Some of the art pieces tell stories with emotions and colors that reflect the journey of their creators while other pieces engage the viewer with some visual game based on academic art cliches, avant-garde, puns, and kitsch elements. "Reflecting the visible" will run at the gallery until August 27, 2022.
