24 foreign entities, organizations added on US' export control list
Some of these companies manufacture microelectronics, and others operate in the industrial machinery sector.
Citing concerns about the US national security, the US Department of Commerce said on Wednesday it added 24 foreign organizations to its export control list, 10 of which are based in Russia.
"These entities have been determined by the US Government to be acting contrary to the national security or foreign policy interests of the United States and will be listed on the Entity List under the destinations of Latvia, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)," the notice said.
The Russian entities include AO Kraftway Corporation PSC, AO PKK Milandr, AO Scientific Research Center for Electronic Computing, LLC Fibersense, Milandr EK, Milandr ICC JSC, Milur IS, Microelectronic Production Complex (MPK) Milandr, Ruselectronics JSC, and Scientific Production Company Optolink.

On November 10, National Security Advisor to the White House Jake Sullivan stated that any relationship with the Russians is only limited to the case of Brittney Griner and remains at the senior levels.
On November 28, the US Charge d'Affaires in Moscow Elizabeth Rood confirmed that US-Russia communication channels remain open at the working level, but it remains crucial that the embassy in Moscow maintains its functions.
"Our bilateral relations are at a rather low level and our embassies are considerably reduced from their normal size. But that said, we do have channels of talking with Russia at the working level, about all the many things that are necessary to keep our embassies functioning," Rood stated in an interview for RIA Novosti.
On Tuesday, the Financial Times newspaper reported that the new EU sanctions package against Russia involves a ban on the broadcasting of four channels and the control over the export of dual-usage goods worth more than 2.3 billion euros ($2.4 billion).
The sanctions package will also involve a ban on transactions with Russian marketing firms and market research firms, according to the newspaper.
