Floods in Hodeidah: al-Mashat oversees official aid efforts
The governorate of Hodeidah, in Yemen, suffered severe damage as a result of the floods that hit.
Yemeni local sources informed Al Mayadeen of human and material losses resulting from the floods and heavy rains that struck the coastal governorate of Hodeidah, located on the Red Sea in western Yemen.
The torrential rains caused significant damage, washing away roads and houses in the province. Major damage was reported in the city of Hodeidah and the districts of al-Qanawas, Bajil, al-Zaidiya, and al-Marawah in the east, as well as al-Durayhimi, Zabid, Beit al-Faqih, and al-Tuhayta in the south.

According to Yemen's Saba news agency, the head of Yemen's Supreme Political Council, Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat, made contacts with the caretaker government's vice president for services and development, Dr. Hussein Maqbouli, the emergency committee, and the governors of Hodeidah, Taiz, and Hajjah.
According to Saba, a Yemeni news website, al-Mashat was briefed during the calls on the efforts of the local authorities to confront the damage caused by the torrential rains that flowed into the three governorates during the past hours.
