The Government Media Office in Gaza has disclosed the details of a new Israeli crime targeting starved civilians in central Gaza, asserting that the occupation is deliberately engineering hunger and chaos.
According to the office, 20 civilians were martyred and dozens more injured early Wednesday morning when an aid truck overturned onto a crowd of starved Palestinians awaiting humanitarian assistance in central Gaza.
The office explained that the truck had been forced by the occupation to use unsafe routes that had previously been bombed and were not suitable for transport, leading to the tragic incident. The office emphasized that the occupation is intentionally obstructing the secure delivery of humanitarian aid, compelling drivers to take congested routes crowded with starved civilians desperate for aid.
As a result, the office added, such scenes often end in chaos, with trucks being stormed and stripped of their contents, an outcome "Israel" has orchestrated deliberately.
138 martyrs, 771 injured in 24 hours
Additionally, the Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that 138 Palestinians were martyred, including three bodies recovered from under the rubble, and 771 others were injured in the last 24 hours amid ongoing Israeli bombardment.
Emergency and civil defense teams are still unable to reach numerous victims trapped under the rubble or lying in the streets, due to continued strikes and unsafe conditions.
Since the beginning of the aggression on October 7, 2023, the total number of martyrs has risen to 61,158, with 151,442 injuries recorded. From March 18, 2025, until today, the ministry documented 9,654 martyrs and 39,401 injuries.
Among those martyred in the last 24 hours, 87 were civilians targeted while seeking aid, alongside 570 injuries. This brings the total number of martyrs killed while attempting to obtain food and aid to 1,655, with over 11,800 wounded.
In the same 24-hour period, five additional deaths were recorded due to starvation and malnutrition, raising the total number of famine-related deaths to 193, including 96 children.

A crime of genocide under international law
The Government Media Office in Gaza condemned what it described as a deliberate and criminal policy by the occupation, stating that it constitutes “a full-fledged crime of genocide under international humanitarian law.”
The office held the occupation, and the international actors complicit with it, primarily the United States, fully responsible for the deepening humanitarian catastrophe and the deaths of innocent civilians who perish daily due to hunger and intentional mismanagement.
Concluding its statement, the office stressed that the situation in Gaza has surpassed all red lines, asserting that the ongoing systematic crimes reflect both a failure to respond and either direct or indirect complicity, through silence, collusion, or indifference, in perpetuating the crisis.
