EU says 'no excuse' for Gaza hospital massacre after backing "Israel"
EU chief Ursula von der Leyen describes the massacre as a "hell of fire" and refrains from addressing the perpetrator behind it, days after pledging support to "Israel".
Addressing EU lawmakers before the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Wednesday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that "there is no excuse for hitting a hospital full of civilians" in Gaza, and that "facts need to be established" on the massacre.
Last night, the EU chief described the explosion as having turned into "a hell of fire," adding that "all those responsible must be held accountable," but did not refer to any side or make any specific accusations.

This comes after German Chancellor Olaf Scholz held talks in "Israel" with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and allegedly called for an investigation into the massacre.
"I am horrified by the images of the explosion in a hospital in Gaza. Innocent civilians were injured and killed," he posted on X, adding that "A thorough investigation of the incident is imperative" and expressed that his "thoughts are with the families of the victims."

This is all the same EU that had its foreign policy chief make a statement exhibiting just how much "European exceptionalism" is still alive and well.
As he addresses students at the College of Europe in Bruges on Thursday at a university program designed to raise the next generation of European diplomats, Borrell compared the European Union to a "garden" that must be protected from the "jungle" outside.
The EU, according to Borrell, has the best combination of “political freedom, economic prosperity, and social cohesion” ever known to humankind.
