Former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst commits suicide

Former Miss USA, lawyer, and television personality, Cheslie Kryst, died at 30 on Sunday morning after presumably jumping from an apartment building in Manhattan.
On Sunday evening, the New York Police Department (NYPD) confirmed her death to The Hill.
"Her impact will live on," Kryst's family said in a statement published by The Washington Post.
“In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie. Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined,” the family’s statement read.

Kryst was crowned Miss USA 2019 and she held a law and master’s in business degree from Wake Forest University.
After winning the pageant, Kryst became a correspondent for the entertainment news site "Extra".
“Cheslie was not just a vital part of our show, she was a beloved part of our ‘Extra’ family and touched the entire staff. Our deepest condolences to all her family and friends,” Extra said in a statement.
It is worth mentioning that mental illnesses are very common in the United States. In any given year, about one in every five persons suffers from a diagnosable mental illness (disorder).
