3 killed, dozen missing in Jersey Island explosion
Jersey is a self-governing dependency of the UK and is located off the coast of northern France in the English Channel.
An explosion on the Channel Island of Jersey left three dead and around a dozen missing, after a three-story building in the town of St. Helier collapsed following a blast on Saturday.
Robin Smith, chief officer of the States of Jersey Police, released a statement that police were notified a little before 4 am after residents reported smelling gas the night before the blast and confirmed that emergency services promptly responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.

Smith described the situation as a “devastating scene" as she confirmed that the building “completely collapsed,” but the cause of the blast is still being investigated.
