An overwhelming majority of Russian citizens (81%) trust President Vladimir Putin and 78% approve of his work, a poll carried out by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) showed on Friday.

Only 15.3% distrust President Putin while only 13.4% disapprove of his work, the poll revealed.

The poll was conducted between June 20 and June 26 through phone interviews among 1,600 adults. The margin of error is under 1%.

On the other hand, a poll conducted by the Moscow-based Public Opinion Foundation (FOM) showed that 78% of respondents trust Putin, while 13% do not trust him and 9% are undecided. 80% said they approved of the Russian leader's work, 12% said they did not, and 9% were undecided.

The second poll was carried out June 24 through the 26th among 1,500 adults in 3 regions throughout Russia via in-person interviews with a margin of error of 2.5%.

Putin's popularity has been on a steady incline over the past while, as a poll conducted by FOM in mid-June found similar figures: 80% of respondents trusted Putin, 12% did not, and 8% were unsure.

Russia's Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM) conducted a similar poll, interviewing 1,600 citizens over the age of 18. According to VCIOM, Putin is currently trusted by 81.1% of Russian citizens, and his actions are supported by 78.7% of respondents

Meanwhile, an opinion poll conducted by the Morning Consult found that support for US President Joe Biden has declined among young Americans.

The Morning Consult poll found that Biden's approval rating fell 20% among voters between the ages of 18 and 34 from January 2021 to June 2022.

In addition, Biden's approval rate dropped to 41% among multiple age groups surveyed from June 4-6, 2022, the poll showed, including young voters - 52% of whom disapproved of Biden's performance - as well as voters aged 35-44 and 65 and older.
