Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Iraq reported that a gas tank explosion in Baghdad has led to nine deaths. The tragedy occurred in Bank Street, eastern Baghdad.
An Iraqi security source had reported the death of a number of people as a result of the explosion of a gas tank for unknown reasons, according to an initial toll, in Baghdad.

"The security forces in the Baghdad Operations Command are taking the necessary measures to uncover the causes behind the explosion that occurred inside a garage by a tanker in the area between Talbieh and Cairo Street," the Security Media Cell said in a statement.
Activists on social media posted pictures and videos of the gas tank that exploded.
The explosion caused significant damage to a number of nearby cars and houses, while experts had gone to the site of the explosion to determine its causes, as the Baghdad Operations Commander confirmed that "the accident was technical and not a terrorist act."
