The Iraqi Armed Forces categorically rejected on Saturday accusations issued by the Interior Ministry of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) against an official Iraqi security institution, the Popular Mobilization Forces, calling them unacceptable under any pretext.
This is especially the case, given the absence of evidence presented to the official governmental authorities, spokesperson Sabah al-Naaman stressed in a statement.
He emphasized that the Iraqi federal government and its security institutions have repeatedly affirmed their unwavering commitment to protecting all Iraqis and ensuring national security.

Baghdad committed to taking strict legal action
Baghdad will not hesitate to take strict legal action against any entity attempting to disrupt stability or endanger security across Iraq, al-Naaman underscored.
The spokesperson urged cooperation and coordination through official channels, rather than resorting to media outlets with reports and statements that could harm Iraq's institutions.
He warned that such actions "provide an opportunity for malicious actors" to undermine Iraq’s protective structures and offer hostile parties pretexts to destabilize the country.
Kurdistan Region Government accuses PMF-affiliated groups of attacks
Earlier, the Interior Ministry of the Kurdistan Regional Government said that official Iranian media outlets reported that a drone attack targeted an Israeli base in Erbil on Thursday night.
The Ministry called in a statement the reports misleading and entirely untrue, claiming that there are no Israeli bases in the Kurdistan Region and that no such operations have been carried out.
The statement acknowledged that a drone crashed in an unpopulated area near Erbil on Thursday night; however, it accused certain groups affiliated with the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) of conducting such attacks "with the intent of inciting chaos."
The relevant authorities in the Iraqi federal government "must put an end to these acts of sabotage and take the necessary legal action against those responsible," the Ministry asserted.
