Car Crashes into Chinese Consulate in San Francisco: US
TV cameras captured a Honda sedan that had collided with the visa office, and the entrance doors of the building were blocked off.
A driver who crashed into the Chinese consulate building in San Francisco, California, was shot and killed by the police, as reported by CBS News on Tuesday citing police.
The vehicle stopped inside the consulate's lobby, and law enforcement officers had to use lethal force, resulting in the individual's death at the hospital, as per the report.
The broadcaster added that law enforcement is collaborating with the US State Department to examine the occurrence.

A statement from the Chinese consulate general slammed Monday’s incident.
“On the afternoon of October 9, 2023, local time, an unidentified person drove a vehicle and violently crashed into the document hall of our consulate, posing a serious threat to the safety of staff and people on site, and damaging the facilities of our consulate,” the statement said.
The consulate said that it has demanded more details about the incident and asked that it be “dealt with seriously in accordance with the law."
It is worth noting that the Chinese Consulate General is located on a prominent street, facing San Francisco's Japantown neighborhood.
