According to The New York Post, a vehicle being pursued by police smashed into pedestrians in Brooklyn, New York, killing a 67-year-old lady and wounding five others, including an 8-year-old.

The event occurred on Saturday and according to law enforcement officials, authorities attempted to pull over a motorist for having mismatched license plates, resulting in a pursuit that ended when the driver crashed into a crowd of bystanders.

A 67-year-old lady was killed, and an 8-year-old son is now critically ill in the hospital. According to the New York Post, four additional individuals are being hospitalized for critical injuries, while another person sustained minor injuries.

The suspect is in police custody, according to authorities.
