A car rammed into crowds of Liverpool fans in the city centre during Premier League title celebrations on Monday, according to footage circulating online. Police confirmed a man had been detained in connection with the incident.
The vehicle struck "a number of pedestrians" shortly after the team’s open-top bus parade had passed through the area, where tens of thousands had gathered to celebrate.
A dramatic, unverified video shared on social media appeared to show the car speeding through a packed street, briefly swerving away from the densest part of the crowd. Moments later, police swarmed the vehicle, while some fans tried to confront the driver. Others were seen lying injured on the ground.
