Direct flights between Tehran, Caracas launched
Tehran International Imam Khomeini Airport publicized the launch of direct flights between Iran and Venezuela.
Imam Khomeini Airport City announced, on Sunday, the launch of a passenger flight between Tehran and Caracas, as well as the schedule of weekly flights.
Venezuela Airlines' first scheduled passenger flight arrived at Imam Khomeini Airport City at 13:00 on Sunday and will depart for Caracas at 02:45 a.m. on Tuesday this week.
It is worth noting that the inaugural ceremony was attended by Iran's Vice President for Science and Technology alongside Venezuela's Transport Minister.
The CEO of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization Mohammad Mohammadibakhsh said, on Saturday, as quoted by Tasnim that four foreign countries have sent their passenger planes to Iran for repairs.
Mohammadibakhsh further revealed that some plane parts used in the repair process are manufactured in Iran by international standards.
In June, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi issued an order to build a homegrown passenger aircraft.
During his visit to Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company (HESA), Raisi directed the factory's experts to produce homegrown passenger planes with at least 72 seats shortly.
It is worth noting that the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran has also announced, in February 2021, plans to launch a production line for Iranian 100-seater passenger aircraft.
