In Iran, Foreign Airliners are being repaired
The CEO of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization reveals that some plane parts used in the repair process are manufactured in Iran in accordance with international standards.
The CEO of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization Mohammad Mohammadibakhsh said as quoted by Tasnim that four foreign countries have sent their passenger planes to Iran for repairs.
Mohammadibakhsh refused to name the countries.
He stated that as part of the preventive maintenance programs, the Civil Aviation Organization is collaborating with domestic knowledge-based companies to repair plane components.
Mohammadibakhsh further revealed that some plane parts used in the repair process are manufactured in Iran in accordance with international standards.
In June, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi issued an order to build a homegrown passenger aircraft.
In reference to his visit to Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company (HESA), the President stated that he has directed the factory's experts to produce homegrown passenger planes with at least 72 seats in the near future.
It is worth noting that the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran has also announced, in February 2021, plans to launch a production line for Iranian 100-seater passenger aircraft.
