Large Crowds Across Yemen Celebrate the Mawlid of Prophet Mohammad
Yemenis flock to the Al-Sabaeen Square in the capital, Sana'a, and other squares in 14 Yemeni governorates to celebrate the Prophet's birthday.
Starting today's early hours, crowds from the Sana'a governorate flocked to Al-Sabaeen Square to participate in the central celebration event of the Mawlid of Prophet Mohammad.
In addition to the Al-Sabaeen Square, dozens of other squares in 14 other governorates received the enthusiastic crowds holding banners and slogans celebrating this occasion.
Following the completion of preparations in various governorates, organizing committees were compelled to open the celebration squares ahead of time due to the large influx of celebrators.
A member of the organizing committee for the event in Sana'a, Muhammad al-Dhahyani, said that "large crowds are still flocking to participate in the celebration," stressing that the Yemeni people will not break despite the sieging and aggressions.

On this occasion, the Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic in Sana'a, Ahmed Hamed, said that "this major event in Yemen will be unprecedented," adding that "the world will realize that the Yemeni people possess a unified word and a unified leadership."
Ahmed Al-Ali, the Minister of Electricity and Energy, noted that "Yemenis are used to celebrating this blessed event."
He noted that six years of siege and aggression "did not prevent these masses from celebrating the Prophet's Mawlid," calling on this occasion "to conduct investigations into the crimes committed by the Saudi-led coalition against the Yemenis."
Celebrations and fireworks lit up the sky of Sana'a Sunday night, hours ahead of the Prophet's Mawlid.
Fireworks were launched from most buildings, streets, squares, and houses. The Yemeni capital, Sana'a, and other governorates were lit up in bright colors, expressing Yemeni citizens' joy on this occasion.
Muslims around the world will commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, al-Mawlid, on Monday, October 18, 2021.
