Mass shooting in Colorado Springs kills 5, injures 18

A shooting near a nightclub - CLUB Q - in Colorado Springs injured 18 people and killed 5. Police rushed to the scene to find dead bodies lying on the premises.
The area is currently closed for police activity and medical practitioners.
The police responded to reports of an active shooting at Club Q at 11:57 pm. local time on Saturday. The shooting victims were transported to hospitals around the city, while the suspect was taken to a hospital for medical attention and is currently in custody.
The motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
Mass shootings just last week
Last week, four students were discovered dead in their home near the University of Idaho in the city of Moscow, Idaho, police reported.
"Moscow Police Officers responded to a call on King Road for an unconscious individual. Upon arrival, officers discovered four individuals who were deceased," as per a police statement.
The deaths are being investigated as homicides. Police affirmed that the investigation is still going on.
The US continues to struggle with violent crime and mass shootings due to its loose gun laws and supremacist grounds for such violence.
Firearm sales soared to record levels between 2020 and 2021, matching up to the increase in victims and shootings the country is grappling with today. There are over 45,000 deaths from gun violence each year in the United States.
