Montenegro shooting: Gunman kills at least 11
The incident occurred in Cetinje, about 36 kilometers west of the capital Podgorica, after the shooter was involved in a family dispute, as per a public broadcaster RTCG.
Local officials said a shooter killed at least 11 people, including two children, in a mass shooting in Montenegro's central city of Cetinje on Friday, in one of the country's deadliest violent incidents.
"Eleven people were killed in Cetinje today," Andrijana Nastic, a government prosecutor assisting with the investigation, told reporters, adding that the shooter was among those killed.
The incident occurred in Cetinje, about 36 kilometers west of the capital Podgorica, after the shooter was involved in a family dispute, as per a public broadcaster RTCG.
The shooter was killed by a local resident, according to Nastic.
Six people were also injured in the attack, with three in critical condition, according to Ljiljana Radulovic, director of the central hospital in Podgorica.
Following the shooting, Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic called on the country to support the victims' families, saying the incident was unprecedented in Montenegro's recent history.
Within hours of the attack, Abazovic declared three days of national mourning.
