Several Deaths, Injuries in Siberia Coal Mine Blaze
Nine people were killed, dozens were injured, including from smoke poisoning, and others were reported missing in a coal mine blaze in Siberia's Kemerovo Region.

The number of people killed in the fire accident at the Listvyazhnaya coal mine in the Kemerovo Region in Siberia increased to eleven, originally being 6, the regional government said.
Preliminary data reported that one person was killed and dozens were trapped following a coal mine blaze.

At the time of the accident, there were 285 miners at the mine, 237 people were evacuated to the surface, and 49 people remain at the mine, Regional Governor Sergey Tsivilev said. The rescue operation is still ongoing.

Tsivilev said one person had died and another 43 had been injured, two of whom were in a serious condition, local news agencies reported.
"According to preliminary data, a number of workers suffered from smoke poisoning. The number of victims is being specified," the regional branch of Russia's Investigative Committee said in an earlier statement.
