Trump Fires at Twitter over Taliban
After Trump’s criticism, Twitter assured that it will review the Taliban's posts for any content that may violate Twitter terms and rules.
Former US President Donald Trump criticized the fact that the "Taliban" is allowed to use Twitter, while he is barred from doing so.
While speaking to Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo, Trump denounced Twitter for allowing "stone-cold killers" on the site, US Newsweek magazine reported.
On her part, Bartiromo noted that the "Taliban" and the Communist Party of China are still allowed to post on the platform.
"They took me off Twitter because I'm right," Trump stressed.
It is worth noting that the Spokesperson for the "Taliban" Movement Zabihullah Mujahid was tweeting live updates during the Movement's control of Afghanistan. His Instagram account has over 319,000 followers.
Asked about Trump's remarks, Twitter previously told Newsweek that it will review the Taliban's posts for any content that may "violate Twitter rules, specifically policies against the glorification of violence, platform manipulation, and spam."
"We will continue to proactively enforce our rules and review content that may violate Twitter rules," Twitter Spokesperson added.
While Twitter is allowing the group to remain on its platform, for the time being, Facebook and TikTok have stated that they still consider the "Taliba"n to be a terrorist organization and that the group's content will continue to be blocked on their platforms.
