Two killed, another injured in Kansas City shooting: Media
Local media say one man was shot and pronounced dead at the site, while another woman succumbed to injuries after being transferred to the hospital.
Two people were killed and another was injured on Friday in a shooting that involved Kansas City police, the Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed.
According to a Kansas City police spokesperson, the incident took place at 31st Street and Van Brunt Boulevard.
Sgt. Andy Bell, a spokesperson for the Missouri State Highway Patrol, specified that the shooting occurred right after an officer requested a call for assistance to the location.

Bell indicated that when officers arrived on the scene, they saw one officer and five other people near a white van.
He confirmed that three people were shot in the incident but did not specify what prompted the shooting.
Local media mentioned that one man was shot and pronounced dead at the site, while another woman succumbed to injuries after being transferred to the hospital.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol noted that another man was shot, but his injuries were not described as serious.
Bell pointed out that it is unclear yet if all three individuals were shot by Kansas police.
He affirmed that investigators are working to determine whether someone else other than the police officer opened fire.
Local media reported that one pistol that did not belong to a Kansas City police was discovered at the site.
The latest shooting resulted in the 83rd and 84th killings in Kansas City this year. The city saw 172 homicides last year, the second-highest amount on record.
