'Israel' commits genocide on Gaza with backing of US: Venezuela MFA
The top diplomat previously compared the genocide in Gaza to a Nazi-style genocide.
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil Pinto on Saturday published in a social media post on X that the Israeli regime is committing genocide in the Gaza Strip with financial and political backing from the US.
"The liberation of Auschwitz on January 27, 1945, marked the end of one of the darkest chapters in human history. Soviet troops arrived at the Nazi concentration and extermination camp, finding thousands of prisoners in inhumane conditions. This tragic event served as a grim reminder of the cruelty and brutality of the Holocaust, fostering a global commitment to combat hate and intolerance in all its forms," the post reads.
"Today, we must uphold that commitment by fighting against the barbarism that the Palestinian people have endured for 75 years, specifically addressing the ongoing genocide in Gaza perpetrated by Israel with the financial and political support of the United States," the post continues.
"Over 23,000 Palestinians have been killed, with thousands more missing under the rubble. Thousands of children have been killed, displaced, and terrorized. The genocide must stop," the post concludes.

In November last year, Pinto said in a post on X that what is happening in Gaza is a Nazi-style genocide, adding that "the pictures and testimonies arriving on a daily basis from the Gaza Strip show the war crimes committed by Israel."
Gil continued, "This barbarism must stop immediately, and the perpetrators of these crimes must be prosecuted."
Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro likewise stated that "Israel's" bombing of mosques, hospitals, churches, and inhabited residential buildings compare to the practices of the Nazi fascist Adolf Hitler.
"The world stood up for Palestine," Maduro emphasized, in reference to popular demonstrations in support of Gaza and the Palestinian cause all over the world.
Caracas has previously stated that "Israel will be brought to trial, sooner or later, under the umbrella of international law, for the crimes it commits," declaring its alignment with other Latin American countries in demanding an immediate halt to the Israeli aggression.
