Venezuela backs UN court's probe Into "Israel's" genocide in Gaza
Caracas has previously condemned the Israeli occupation for its aggressive tactics and genocidal behavior, going so far as to accuse "Israel" of surpassing the crimes committed in the Holocaust.
Venezuela voiced its support on Tuesday for a genocide case brought against "Israel" by South Africa with the International Court of Justice(ICJ) in reaction to Israeli aggression in Gaza.
South Africa seeks an urgent interim order from the ICJ, declaring "Israel" in violation of the 1948 Genocide Convention. Netanyahu accused South Africa of "cowardice" and falsehood in launching a genocide lawsuit against "Israel", claiming that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) are the "most moral" army in the world.
The latest death toll in Gaza is sitting at 23,084, while the number of wounded has reached 58,926, since October 7.
The Venezuelan Foreign Ministry released a statement explaining that the country approves of the "historic action taken by the Republic of South Africa" against the Israeli occupation at the ICJ on December 29, 2023, "with respect to the violations by that country of its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide."

A recent report by the Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed that during the past 24 hours, the Israeli war machine executed 12 massacres, killing 126 martyrs and injuring 241 Palestinians. Moreover, James Elder, the Director of UNICEF, stated last week that over 1,000 children in Gaza underwent amputations of one or both legs as a result of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

Last November, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged caution among extremists in his coalition, advising them to be mindful of their words regarding the war on Gaza.
