The leader of the Ansar Allah movement, Sayyed Abdul Malik al-Houthi, condemned on Wednesday the latest Israeli airstrike targeting Sanaa International Airport, framing the aggression as part of a broader campaign aimed at silencing Yemen’s solidarity with the Palestinian people.
In a televised address, Sayyed al-Houthi stated that the occupation’s assault on the airport “falls within the context of a wider aggression targeting our nation, designed to pressure our people into abandoning their support for the Palestinian cause.” He warned that one of the intended outcomes of the attack could be to obstruct the transport of Yemeni pilgrims during the Hajj season.
He affirmed that the repeated repair efforts at the airport would continue “to the necessary extent that ensures the facility remains operational,” reiterating Yemen’s resilience despite the damage.
'Israel' seeks to deter Yemen
Sayyed al-Houthi emphasized that the repeated Israeli attacks on civilian infrastructure, including airports, are part of the regime’s attempt to reassert its deterrence capacity in the region following "a failed US-led military campaign."
“No matter the scale or repetition of Israeli aggression, it will not impact the Yemeni people’s unwavering stance in support of Palestine,” he asserted, stressing that Yemen's commitment remains firm in the face of escalating violence in Gaza.
The Ansar Allah leader further noted that the occupation regime remained “in a weakened position” after the cessation of the US offensive, which he said ended in failure. He accused "Israel" of attempting to isolate the Palestinian people and carry out its crimes unchallenged, calling on the wider Muslim world to respond with greater responsibility.
“Every additional crime committed against Palestinians increases the duty upon the Islamic Ummah to act,” he said.
Yemen to intensify military response
He concluded by affirming that Yemen would intensify its military response, stating: “The ongoing genocide compels us, by our faith, ethics, and humanity, to escalate our operations in defense of the Palestinian people.”
Earlier on Wednesday, Israeli warplanes launched fresh airstrikes on Sanaa International Airport, targeting the customs building and a Yemen Airways aircraft, according to local sources.
Al Mayadeen’s correspondent confirmed that several Israeli air raids struck the airport, renewing the assault on civilian infrastructure. Yemeni sources also informed our correspondent that the airport's Customs department was targeted in the strike.
"Israel’s" Channel 12 reported that one of the targets was a Yemenia Airlines aircraft. The extent of the damage has not yet been confirmed, but the report highlights the recurring pattern of targeting civilian aviation infrastructure under the pretext of military objectives.
