The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Monday that 20 martyrs had arrived at hospitals in the past 24 hours, including 18 bodies recovered from the rubble and two newly killed individuals. Additionally, 20 people were injured during the same period.

According to the ministry’s daily statistical report, the death toll from the ongoing Israeli assault has risen to 47,518 martyrs and 111,612 injuries since October 7, 2023. The report also noted that many victims remain trapped under the rubble and on the roads, where rescue teams are unable to reach them.

Meanwhile, the Government Media Office in Gaza accused the Israeli occupation of deliberately stalling the implementation of the humanitarian protocol and evading its commitments.

The office stated that under the agreed terms, 60,000 caravans, 200,000 tents, and 600 aid trucks were supposed to enter Gaza daily. It held the Israeli occupation and the US administration responsible for the severe humanitarian consequences of failing to meet these obligations.

The office urged international guarantors to take responsibility and pressure the Israeli occupation to comply with the humanitarian protocol.

Delay in relief efforts

On Sunday, Hamas also accused the Israeli occupation of delaying relief and reconstruction efforts, which were stipulated in the ceasefire agreement.

In a statement, the movement said that "Israel" had failed to fully adhere to various relief measures and had not allowed any rebuilding efforts or the entry of essential medical supplies.

Hamas further noted that the amount of fuel entering Gaza was significantly less than agreed, adding that almost no aid had reached northern Gaza and that none of the designated heavy machinery had been allowed in.

The statement warned that the Israeli regime's refusal to permit the entry of excavation equipment prevents the recovery of martyrs’ bodies and hinders the retrieval of remains needed for potential exchanges at the end of this phase.

Israelis restrict return of Palestinians

Israeli forces have deployed around one kilometer from the Rafah border crossing and are preventing Palestinians from returning to Gaza through the crossing, a Palestinian official told Al Mayadeen on Sunday.

The official stated that the Israeli occupation also rejected any presence of what they described as "Hamas-affiliated employees" at the crossing and insisted that no symbols of Palestinian sovereignty, such as the Palestinian flag, be displayed.

Currently, a small team of Palestinian Authority employees is managing operations at Rafah under the supervision of European Union representatives, the official added. The crossing is primarily being used to facilitate the evacuation of 100 patients and wounded individuals for medical treatment in Egypt, along with 50 other humanitarian cases.

The European Union resumed its civil monitoring mission at the Rafah crossing on January 31. At the time, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said the mission would support Palestinian border staff and help facilitate the movement of individuals out of Gaza, particularly those in need of medical care.

Wounded travel to Rafah

50 wounded and sick individuals from the Gaza Strip, accompanied by their companions, traveled through the Rafah crossing on Saturday as part of the first batch to pass since the crossing was fully closed in May 2024.

Egyptian media reported that preparations are underway to receive Palestinian casualties, with buses being arranged to transport them to the Rafah crossing through the World Health Organization.

Earlier this week, North Sinai Governor Khaled Mojawer announced that the Rafah border crossing will reopen to receive injured and sick Palestinians for treatment in Egyptian hospitals.

Speaking at a press conference near the Rafah crossing during his visit on Tuesday, Mojawer stated that "the Egyptian side of the crossing is 1000% ready," while the Palestinian side will be operational within days, as repair works are underway following damage caused during the Israeli war on Gaza.
