A report by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) revealed that civilians, aid workers, and health personnel in Lebanon continue to suffer from the escalating Israeli war.

Israeli airstrikes continue to target Beirut’s densely populated Southern Suburb, with central Beirut also struck recently, forcing more residents into displacement.

The ongoing Israeli aggression has severely impacted the health sector. Since October 2023, the World Health Organization (WHO) has documented 136 Israeli attacks on health facilities, resulting in the killing of 212 health workers, including 70 fatalities just last week. These attacks have forced 21 out of 178 hospitals—13% of Lebanon’s total—to shut down or reduce services, significantly limiting access to vital healthcare.

Despite these challenges, health partners are striving to maintain support. As of November 14, over 100,000 displaced individuals have received primary healthcare services, and more than 300 health centers have been supplied with medicines, according to WHO.

UNICEF and its partners estimate that one million people in Lebanon are in urgent need of water and sanitation assistance. Since mid-September, UNICEF has reportedly repaired water facilities benefiting 1.5 million individuals.

The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) reported that it has delivered over 428,000 relief items to approximately 230,000 forcibly displaced people across Lebanon since September. Additionally,  psychosocial support has been provided to forcibly displaced children and their caregivers who are traumatized due to the relentless Israeli aggression in Lebanon.
