'Israel' obstructing talks, Resistance remains determined: Hamdan
As "Israel" showcases its disinterest in negotiations for the release of Israeli captives, Osama Hamdan affirms that the Resistance remains determined to end the war.
Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan restated, on Thursday evening, that no progress has been made in the indirect negotiations the Resistance is leading with "Israel" regarding a prisoner exchange deal, noting that they had been at a deadlock despite the Resistance's flexibility and positive attitude.
In a press conference held in Beirut, Lebanon, Hamdan said mediators in Egypt and Qatar have been informed of Hamas' stance, about their meetings held with the Israeli occupation's representatives, and affirmed that the movement remains committed to the proposal it officially suggested on March 14.
Following the latest visit to Cairo, the Israeli occupation government has created a useless loop in negotiations due to its consistent stalling, according to the Hamas official.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Hamdan said, was still "imposing challenges to obstruct negotiations, and is not interested in the release of Israeli captives." In this context, Hamdan stressed that Netanyahu and his government were trying to buy time and absorb the captives' families' anger while exhibiting fake interest in the negotiations.
Hamdan also warned against suspicious plots promoted as the Israeli occupation attempts to create strifes and rifts within the Palestinian society and commended the Palestinian people's awareness and responsibility, on national, tribal, and factional levels, which strengthen unity against the occupation.
Al Shifa crimes a reflection of 'Israel'
Regarding the crimes the Israeli occupation committed in Al Shifa Hospital, Hamdan said it would always reflect the occupation's monstrosity. The silence of the international community gives "Israel" the green light to keep committing more massacres, he added.
He also noted that among the Israeli occupation forces' war crimes was the constant systematic violation and aggression against Palestinian prisoners from Gaza, which Israeli media and testimonies from the prisoners themselves have proven.
Hamdan held the United States and Joe Biden specifically responsible for the war crimes committed in Gaza, politically, legally, morally, and humanely, and highlighted Hamas' diligence to end the war.
Hamdan called for breaking the international silence and putting pressure on the occupation to allow international media into the Gaza Strip, to prevent it from committing more crimes away from the media's coverage and to have witnesses to the genocidal war.
Hamdan praises Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, and Syria
Hamdan condemned the Israeli-American aggression against Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and Iraq, and emphasized that the targeting of the Iranian consulate in Damascus was a severe violation of international law, and an attack on the countries' sovereignty [Iran and Syria].
He expressed the movement's appreciation for the operations carried out by the Yemeni Armed Forces, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, and the resistance factions in Iraq, and the consistent targeting of the entity and its interests, in support of the Palestinian people and their resistance.
Hamdan praised the global youth movement, calls for a Friday of Rage for Palestine, and the rally in front of the embassies of the occupation and the United States, to stop the aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
He called for grand, active participation in these events on Friday, and in the coming days.
Hamdan blessed the heroic operations in the West Bank and occupied al-Quds, pointing out that they confirmed the cohesion and unity of the Palestinian people regarding the choice of resistance as a path to liberation and return, calling for their resumption and escalation.
