Nasser Medical Hospital in Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, reported on Friday that it had received the bodies of 15 Palestinian martyrs from the Israeli occupation, as part of the 13th batch of a body exchange agreement implemented under the ongoing ceasefire.
“Fifteen bodies of Palestinian martyrs have been received at Nasser Medical Complex as part of the 13th batch of the body exchange deal, bringing the total number of martyrs whose bodies have been received to 330 since the agreement’s implementation began,” the hospital said in its statement.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health had previously reported that, of the 315 bodies received in earlier batches, only 91 were identified.
Meanwhile, medical teams continue to work under established medical protocols to examine, document, and prepare the bodies for eventual handover to their bereaved families.
Despite the terms of the ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 11, the Israeli occupation continues to withhold dozens of Palestinian martyrs' bodies. Most of the bodies returned thus far have shown clear signs of torture, mutilation, and possible organ theft, sparking renewed outrage over the Israeli violations of international law.
Resistance factions hand over the body of an Israeli captive
On Thursday, the al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, and the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, handed over the body of Israeli captive Meni Godard to the International Committee of the Red Cross, also as part of the prisoner exchange process.
According to al-Qassam, the handover occurred at 8:00 pm Gaza time in the Mouraj area, south of Khan Younis, after the body was retrieved from the region. The al-Quds Brigades stated that its fighters located the body during search and excavation operations in territory occupied by the Israeli army in southern Khan Younis.
The Israeli entity confirmed receipt of the body. The office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Godard's identity was verified following the transfer.
Israeli media have reported that, after this handover, three Israeli captives remain in Gaza.
IOF violations in Gaza continue unabated, ambulance crews obstructed
"Israel" has continued its violations of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, launching airstrikes, artillery shellings, and attacking ambulance crews to prevent them from reaching wounded Palestinians.
Israeli warplanes launched two airstrikes southeast of Khan Younis on Thursday, as tanks opened fire in the southern part of the city, according to Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in Gaza.
Our correspondent reported that Israeli attacks have continued across the enclave, with Khan Younis bearing the brunt of the escalation.
He added that worsening weather conditions have deepened the suffering of residents, who are already facing critical shortages of basic supplies and equipment due to "Israel’s" restrictions on aid deliveries.
Ambulance crews were reportedly prevented from reaching the site of an attack in Rafah, where several Palestinians were targeted on Wednesday, in what appeared to be a deliberate obstruction of rescue efforts.
'Israel' continues to violate the ceasefire in Gaza
Hamas accused "Israel" of daily violations of the ceasefire agreement signed in Sharm el-Sheikh nearly a month ago, holding it fully responsible for undermining the deal and seeking to derail it.
On November 11, the Government Media Office in Gaza published horrifying statistics detailing the Israeli violations committed since the ceasefire was reached on October 10. According to figures compiled by the office, "Israel" committed 282 ceasefire violations during this period, killing 242 Palestinians and injuring 620 others.
The documentation details a broad range of violations, including 88 shooting incidents targeting civilians, 12 incursions into residential areas beyond the yellow-line buffer zone, 124 airstrikes and attacks, 52 demolitions of civilian homes, and the arrest of 23 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip.
Rising death toll
The latest figures raise the death toll in Gaza to 69,187 martyrs and 170,703 wounded since the beginning of the Israeli genocide on October 7, 2023.
Despite the declared ceasefire on October 11, the Israeli aggression has continued, claiming the lives of 260 more Palestinians and injuring 632 others. According to the Civil Defense, 533 bodies have been retrieved from beneath the rubble in various parts of the Strip since the ceasefire took effect, highlighting the staggering scale of destruction and death left behind.
Rescue workers and humanitarian agencies continue to sound the alarm, calling for urgent international intervention. Large swathes of Gaza remain inaccessible due to unexploded ordnance, structural collapses, and ongoing Israeli bombardments, hampering relief efforts and endangering Palestinian lives.
