The Israeli Security Ministry is accelerating the procurement of Israeli-made arms-related purchases, as a result of the ongoing war on Gaza.

According to the Israeli 0404 news website, the Ministry has signed a 376 million Shekel ($101.16 million) with Tel-Aviv-based IMCO, an electromechanical and electrical solutions company concerned with producing and developing military-related systems.

The Israeli regime is looking to replace and purchase extra electric systems for its Merkava tanks and Nemer and Eitan armored personnel carriers (APCs).

0404 says that the latest deal is part of a strategy of the Security Ministry's Director General, Major General Eyal Zamir, who has ordered the prioritization of securing deals that strengthen the Israeli military's ground operations capabilities.

The deal signed with IMCO will extend for four years, in which the company will be responsible for delivering approximately $100 million worth of equipment. IMCO will work with several of its US-based subsidiaries to provide the agreed-upon equipment.

Moreover, this is the largest deal signed by the Israeli ministry with IMCO, highlighting the growing need to refurbish and improve Israeli military vehicles, which have been a constant target for Palestinian Resistance fighters since October 7, 2023.

Israeli occupation ground forces have been dealt major hits over the course of their war on Gaza. This has included thousands of losses, including deaths and career-ending injuries, to troops and the damage and destruction of Israeli armored vehicles.

The large contract signed with IMCO indicates that the Israeli occupation seeks to replace electronic and electronic-mechanical equipment usually placed on the hull of tanks, making them prone to damage.
