'Israel' requests list of weapons from US, ignores list of US demands
Israeli Security Minister Yoav Gallant is set to travel to the United States on his first-ever visit to request more weapons as "Israel" ignores US directives.
The Israeli occupation is completely shedding any shame it had and quite frankly quite about any atom of sense it could have, as Security Minister Yoav Gallant prepares to travel to the United States with a long list of weapons that the occupation desires to receive expeditiously without complying with Washington's demands regarding the war on Gaza.
The revelation was made by two Israeli and US officials to Israeli writer and journalist Barak Ravid, who went on to write about the visit on Axios.
Gallant will be using his first visit to the United States, slated for Sunday, to request more weapons from "Israel's" most loyal ally that it does not even want to listen to or take their notes and requests into consideration.
He is set to meet with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, among other senior Biden administration officials.
Ahead of these meetings, Gallant told his US counterpart in a Wednesday phone call that he was coming up with a list of specific weapon systems to ask for, including "long-term" requests that entail the option to purchase more F-35 and F-15 fighter jets.
Biden admin in a pickle
The expected Israeli arms requests come at a very sensitive time for the Biden administration amid mounting criticism for its continued support for "Israel" despite all the horrific massacres it is carrying out in Gaza.
This might have been what pushed US President Joe Biden to issue NSM-20, a document that represents a global policy allegedly aimed at strengthening safeguards and accountability for arms transfers, at least according to the State Department.
The new policy mandates that all partners receiving US-funded arms, under security assistance and cooperation authorities, must provide written assurances. These assurances include a commitment to using the weapons and equipment in compliance with the law of war, as well as facilitating the delivery of US and US-supported humanitarian aid in war zones.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the US National Security Council told Al Mayadeen that the National Security Memorandum on Safeguards and Accountability regarding military equipment and services sent to others does not stipulate imposing new measures as far as military aid is concerned. Rather, it merely demands guarantees of compliance with existing controls. Still, the massacres went on.
'Israel' cares not
It's not like the Biden administration did not make any demands from "Israel", asking it to relent here and there and to, for example, not invade Rafah, as the occupation is hell-bent on committing as many crimes and violations as it can.
Just earlier in the day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed US Secretary of State Antony Blinken that "Israel" will enter Rafah with or without US help.
According to Netanyahu's office, the prime minister reminded the secretary of state during a Friday meeting that the occupation appreciates US assistance for its war on Gaza. According to a statement from Netanyahu's office, " I told him I hope we do it with US support, but if we have to, we'll do it alone."
US President Joe Biden's administration is considering various options instead of an Israeli ground invasion of the southern Gazan city of Rafah, which it plans to present to a senior Israeli delegation visiting Washington next week, Axios reported citing two US officials.
The United States is going out on a limb for the Israeli occupation as the latter shows no signs of being willing to compromise for the sake of saving Washington some face in the international arena; the US even went out in the UNSC today and proposed a "ceasefire" resolution, one that has no ceasefire mandate but, alas, baby steps. The resolution was ridiculed for how biased it was in favor of the Israeli occupation, with both China and Russia vetoing for that exact reason.
The United States is all-out ridiculing itself on the world stage, but "Israel" does not really seem to care about any of that; it really begs the question, who here is in control of who?
