Unprecedented numbers of malnourished victims, including children and the elderly, are flooding emergency rooms across Gaza’s hospitals as the Israeli occupation continues to wage a war of starvation, targeting civilians seeking aid and blocking food and humanitarian supplies, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
The Health Ministry reported on Friday that patients are arriving in extremely weakened and exhausted conditions, warning that hundreds of severely emaciated individuals now face imminent death as their bodies shut down because of starvation.
69 children killed by malnutrition
The death toll from malnutrition in Gaza has risen to at least 69 children, with the total number of starvation-related fatalities reaching 620, according to the territory's Government Media Office.
The media office reported these casualty figures as "Israel" continues to enforce its total siege on Gaza, which the office characterizes as part of an ongoing genocidal campaign, all while the international community fails to take decisive action to address the rapidly deteriorating catastrophe.
76,450 aid trucks blocked from Gaza
Furthermore, the office released figures related to the starvation crisis deliberately imposed by the occupation, revealing that after 139 days of complete closure of all crossings into the territory, Israeli authorities have blocked the entry of 76,450 humanitarian aid and fuel trucks that were desperately needed to alleviate the catastrophic shortages.
Alongside the dozens of children who have already died from starvation under the blockade, an additional 650,000 children now face life-threatening malnutrition and hunger due to severe food shortages in Gaza.
877 Palestinians killed while seeking aid
The Gaza Media Office reported that 877 people have been killed and over 5,666 have been wounded by Israeli occupation forces at so-called "humanitarian aid centers," which they described as "death traps", while 42 others remain missing following attacks on these distribution points.
Israeli forces have targeted 57 aid distribution centers and 42 soup kitchens as part of their starvation campaign, while humanitarian aid convoys have come under attack 121 separate times, according to Palestinian officials.
Meanwhile, 12,500 cancer patients face death without access to treatment or proper nutrition, while approximately 60,000 pregnant women remain at severe risk due to "Israel's" blockade, denying them essential healthcare and adequate food supplies.
'Israel' continues its crimes unabated
The Gaza Government Media Office held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for criminally weaponizing starvation, while also condemning complicit nations engaged in genocide through what it described as "silence, complicity, or direct support," namely the United States, Germany, and France.
The Gaza Media Office urgently called on the international community and nations of the free world to take immediate action to stop the starvation policy and save the remaining lives being systematically destroyed before the world's eyes by demanding the immediate opening of crossings, lifting the blockade, and ensuring the prompt delivery of humanitarian aid without delay.
