'Israel' to admit Resistance bombed Israeli HQ in S. Lebanon in 1982
"Israel's" Yedioth Ahronoth reveals that the investigation into the martyrdom operation of Ahmad Qasir, who bombed the headquarters of the Israeli military governor in the Tyre region 42 years ago, will admit the truth behind what happened.
Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth disclosed that after 42 years, the Israeli investigation committee will admit that the martyrdom operation of Ahmad Qasir, who destroyed the headquarters of the Israeli military governor in Tyre, South Lebanon in November 1982, was contrary to their initial claim of an "explosion resulting from a gas leak."
In detail, the newspaper published for the first time that the investigation committee, formed approximately a year ago following a series of investigations in Yedioth Ahronoth, completed its work and finalized its report on what was defined as "the worst disaster in the history of the Israeli army." The findings were described as "dramatic and compelling."
Sources in the intelligence community who reviewed the investigation said it "contains dramatic findings not only about the cause of the tragedy but also about its cover-up and the cost of that cover-up."
The newspaper added that the committee concluded that the collapse of the military governor’s building 42 years ago was caused by a Resistance operation, despite "a series of senior security officials, ministers, and prime ministers dismissing doubts that it was merely an explosion due to a gas leak over the years."
The newspaper also noted that "the committee will soon present its conclusions to the heads of intelligence agencies, security and military institutions, and the Israeli government, and subsequently to the families of those killed in the explosion."
Fabricated narrative
It is noteworthy that "Israel" announced on June 25, 2023, the formation of a new committee to reinvestigate the bombing of the military governor's headquarters in southern Lebanon, unveiling new details about the operation.
On November 11, 1982, martyr Ahmad Qasir stormed the headquarters of the Israeli military governor in Tyre with a car bomb, in an operation described as the most potent and successful in the history of the Resistance, notable for being unprecedented and accurate.
After 42 years, the repercussions of martyr Ahmad Qasir's operation continue to affect the security of "Israel". In addition to the significant human and moral losses suffered by the occupation, the fabricated narrative concocted by the military investigation committee at the time has obscured the truth of what happened.
However, the persistent opacity surrounding the case over those years crumbled under the deluge of claims and criticism aimed at the official investigation, which disregarded conclusions drawn from witnesses and material evidence collected at the time, which unequivocally pointed to the incident being a martyrdom operation rather than an accidental occurrence.
