'Israel' used humanitarian aid as weapon for mass displacement
The large number of civilian casualties "has been exacerbated by unparalleled and catastrophic levels of infrastructural destruction and agricultural damage," according to a report by Forensic Architecture.
According to a recent assessment by Forensic Architecture, the Israeli occupation's evacuation orders in the Gaza Strip during the ongoing assault resulted in widespread displacement and "genocidal acts" against Palestinians.
The London-based research group found that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) "weaponized" humanitarian measures, such as evacuation orders and "safe zones", to force civilians into areas of active bombardment.
According to the research, rather than safeguarding lives, the use of such measures has permitted the forcible transfer and mass displacement of Palestinians, as well as contributed to the massive civilian death toll in Gaza which has surpassed 31,000 Palestinians and tens of thousands wounded.
These numbers, however, fail to account for those who remain trapped under the rubble or on the streets as the Israeli occupation forces have forbidden ambulances and civil defense teams from reaching them.
"Rather than 'humanitarian acts' used as preventative measures for the safeguarding of civilian life, Israel has exercised a form of 'humanitarian violence', in concert with and in support of its broader genocidal actions," the report detailed.
The large number of civilian casualties "has been exacerbated by unparalleled and catastrophic levels of infrastructural destruction and agricultural damage, and the systematic targeting of vital civilian structures, including hospitals, schools, religious and cultural heritage sites, bakeries, and homes."
The report additionally noted that despite the International Court of Justice's (ICJ) interim ruling against "Israel" in January, the occupation has continued to forcibly remove Palestinians from their homes and deny them food and other necessities; a blatant breach of the court's ruling.
South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa, confirmed on Monday that "Israel has not been complying with the orders issued by the [ICJ] court."
He continued to assert that South Africa sees "it fit to approach the court on an urgent basis, particularly with the view of addressing the challenges in the Rafah area," as he referred to the massacres being committed in the region by "Israel".
He concluded that further action must be taken as the "people in Gaza are now starving".
IOF open fire, murder people awaiting aid at Gaza's Kuwaiti roundabout
Israeli occupation forces opened fire on a gathering of Palestinians at the Kuwaiti roundabout in the Gaza Strip on Thursday as they awaited aid delivery, resulting in the martyrdom of six people and injuring 83 others.
The Palestinian people in Gaza are facing dire shortages of food, water, and medicine, and several cases of people dying of starvation were reported as the Israeli occupation forces continue to delay the entry of much-needed aid across the Strip.
On Wednesday, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed that at least one staff member was killed and 22 were injured when the IOF struck a food distribution center in Rafah.
