'Israel' will not escape from Oct. 7 circle of defeat: Hamas official
Hamas official Osama Hamdan says the Israeli occupation of Palestine must either end unconditionally or Israelis must agree to a political formula leading to their withdrawal.
Hamas official Osama Hamdan told Al Mayadeen that "Israel has not and will not succeed in escaping from the circle of defeat of October 7, which provided a historic opportunity in the region" rather than maintaining the status quo.
Hamdan highlighted that "more than 10% of the Israeli attacking force has been destroyed, and Israel has entered a state of attrition in Gaza and is concealing its losses."
He indicated that the Israeli occupation military "attempts to advance toward construction areas and then withdraws under the weight of Resistance strikes."
The Palestinian official stressed that the Israeli occupation of Palestine must either end unconditionally or Israelis must agree to a political formula leading to their withdrawal."
Hamdan noted that the Palestinian Resistance "has been clear from the beginning, demanding either a full prisoner swap or a ceasefire in exchange for the release of dual nationals."
He recalled that "Netanyahu disrupted the formula for releasing foreigners and a group of detainees and later disrupted the release of 12 foreigners."
Furthermore, Hamdan affirmed that "the American project to reshape the region has been damaged, and the US administration is dismayed by the Israeli poor performance and surprised by the performance of the Palestinian Resistance."
"We are capable of deciding the shape of the region's map ourselves, and the Arab summit presents a historic opportunity to lay the foundation for this," he said.
He revealed that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in his first visit to occupied Palestine, came to establish an alliance against the Resistance and failed in that.
Hamdan explained that Blinken "suggested a general idea about the exit of the resistance with all its factions from the equation of managing the Gaza Strip," stressing that "this is an American hope that will not be achieved."
"The [Palestinian] Resistance shall remain in Gaza," he vowed.
The Hamas official also revealed that "Blinken also failed to complete a deal to release dual nationals, especially American citizens."
Elsewhere, Hamdan mentioned that "we are facing a strategic shift in terms of the Palestinian cause, and we will emerge from this battle having set our feet on the path to liberation."
