'Israel became a laughingstock, our response is inevitable: Ghalibaf
Ghalibaf emphasized that comparing Operation True Promise to the Israeli aggression against Iran underscores Iran's military capability to deter its adversaries.
Iranian Shura Council Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf affirmed on Sunday that "Israel" has become a source of ridicule in its attempts to confront Iran on the international stage.
Ghalibaf stated during a closed parliamentary session that comparing Operation True Promise with the Israeli aggression against Iran highlights Iran's military strength in deterring its enemies. He further emphasized that "the Israeli entity has accomplished nothing except the oppression and killing of innocent people in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon."
During a closed session of parliament, Ghalibaf explained the comparison between the Operation and the Israeli aggression.
He noted that "the Israeli aggression against Iran was driven by emotion and has resulted in yet another failure for the entity," declaring that "Iran reserves the right to respond to Israeli aggression as part of its legitimate rights, and such a response is inevitable, while also considering the necessary conditions."
Ghalibaf also warned "the United States about the repercussions of allowing Israeli crimes against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples to continue," urging Washington to rein in "Israel" to prevent it from exacerbating unrest in the region and to compel it to agree to a sustainable ceasefire.
Israeli attack on Iran
Early on Saturday, Israeli warplanes launched an aggression on Iran, as explosions were heard in several areas, including the capital Tehran. Attacks renewed at around 4:30 am, as footage circulated of several successful interceptions near the capital.
The Israeli military command confirmed that its Air Force conducted strikes on "military targets" in Iran. It also warned Israeli settlers, urging them to remain "alert and vigilant," in a statement.
At least three explosions were heard near Tehran, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Iran reported.
Later, our correspondent said that Israeli warplanes attempted to target three bases in Tehran Province, which includes multiple counties. However, Iranian air defenses were able to intercept the incoming attack, leading to minimal damage to the intended targets.
'Showoff', 'weak': Israeli media
After the Israeli attack, Israeli media was quick to criticize what is described as a largely symbolic move that failed to achieve any significant strategic goals. Reports from Kan and other sources highlighted a growing sense of dissatisfaction within "Israel" regarding the operation's limited impact.
Arab Affairs correspondent Roy Kays suggested that if he were in [Sayyed Ali] Khamenei's position, he would get back to sleep and assess the situation regarding the attack on Iran the following morning.
Israeli media figure Rami Yitzhar, once a senior officer in the Israeli military police, believed that the attack on Iran, which he described as "minuscule and weak,” was a political trick by Netanyahu to show his supporters that he had done something against Tehran.
Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that former Mossad Intelligence Division chief Brigadier General (Res.) Amnon Sofrin warned that Iran possesses the capability to launch a highly potent operation against "Israel" in retaliation.
